Three Pounds Down

My mission is to lose 10 pounds this summer. I've been really motivated, walking four, sometimes five miles every weekday morning. After the first week I weighed in losing two pounds, and the following week I lost only one. I was a little disturbed!

I'm walking every morning, logging my walks and EVERY THING I eat on livestrong so why didn't I lose two pounds? Livestrong suggested in order to lose two pounds a week, I should eat 1161 calories a day. Their My Plate online application is amazing. I don't have a clue about calories, but the website has helped me keep track of it all. It lets me how many more to go, and even figuring in my exercise. Last week, the one pound loss was a little bit of a surprise.

This Monday, the day before yesterday, I was horrisprised! When I saw that I had only lost .3 tenths of a pound, I wanted to go eat something. I started moving the scale around the house trying to get a better reading. I even went to WalMart and bought a new battery.

I know I didn't put it on over night, and it's not going to come off over night, but.... Actually last summer I gained almost 10 pounds. Recently, I bought a couple of dresses, only dresses, and REFUSE to buy pants!

When I stepped on that scale Monday, I was really discouraged! Had there been a cheese cake in the fridge, I would have eaten it,,, ALL! My friend suggested I hide the scale, and keep exercising and eating right. For the next two weeks, I'm not even going to look at the scale. June 11, will be my next time I weigh-in.

Pray for me!

Friday Confession

Those five pounds I lost before leaving for Blogalicious... I've gained back, plus a couple. And I was doing so good. My excuse is the girls have started playing basketball, and at least four nights a week for the past two weeks we've had one basketball game or another. And since time has fallen back, I've really been out of sorts. I sit down, and within 30 minutes... I'm sleep. Thank goodness for dvr.

My delima is still the same as when I started this weight loss journey with the start of a new Biggest Loser season, my clothes are tight. A few of my pants make me feel like a sausage stuffed in its casing... Not comforatable!

I need clothes, but I refuse to buy NEW ones. My plan is, still work on losing weight, and go to resale and consignment stores and find pants. It makes no sense to spend money on brand new clothes I won't be able to wear in a few months. Right?

When I find the time to scout out a few resale shops (because basketball has us so busy), I'll fill you in on my finds. By the way, my girls are not just on the team, they're true ballers, and I have video to prove it!

It's The Climb

Today is Biggest Loser, and my weigh in. I'm still holding at a five pound loss, but glad I didn't gain.

A few weeks ago, I wrote about my renewed commitment to losing weight, with the kick-off of the Biggest Loser. That's when my friend and I bear crawled across a football field. This weekend, we were at it again. Because we both have children that are uber busy, we have to make time to workout, and that's not always easy. In the past couple of weeks, we've not been able to workout together, at all. We made a date to do something different to keep our momentum and motivation going. Saturday, we climbed a mountain, Pinnacle Mountain.

It's not Mount Kilimanjaro, or the Himalayans, but it is one of seven peeks of the Ouachita Mountain Range, and is 1,011 above the Arkansas River. And I might add, is a helluva workout! We started out on the Base Trail, with a moderate difficulty level, and after about 35 - 40 minutes, our climb started, via the East Summit Trail. The more we walked, it became a real climb, with the degree of difficulty changing to strenuous.

As we continued to walk further up the mountain, it got really difficult at times. We'd take an occasional peak out through the trees, and the view gave us the motivation to keep going. As a old song says... "to see what the ends gonna be."

The view from more than 1,000 feet sea level (actually the Arkansas River) was breath taking, to say the least! An added bonus... there were eagles flying and soaring. We sat there for a while, relaxed, took pictures, talked, and marveled at just how awesome God is.

The entire time going up, I had Miley Cyrus' song in my head, 'The Climb.' I know it seems cheesy, but...

I Lost!!!

Today, Biggest Loser airs, and it's my day to weigh in day. I didn't post last week, but I weighed losing only one pound. I was happy for that one, making my weight last week 150.

This morning bright and early, I weighed in, loosing two lbs, since last weeks weigh in! I have to admit, I moved the scale around a bit. In the foyer it said 150. In the kitchen, 148. Which one do you think I'm going with? You're dog-gone boogin (don't know where that came from. But that's how I'm feeling), the weight from the kitchen!

So my total weight loss is 5 pounds! Feeling really good!

Weighing In

I have NOT lost one pound... NOT ONE!!!

This morning standing in my closet looking for something to wear, I felt... frustrated. It's been 20 days, and no weight loss. Still, my pants are too tight to wear in public, so I had to  wear a skirt, again!

Confession: I haven't done all that I can to lose weight.

Since September 1, I've worked out with Bob (Biggest Loser) twice, and once with Shaun T. I've also walked/ran 2 miles twice, for a total of 4 miles. Which averages out to working out twice a week.

When it comes to eating... I'm not eating breakfast every morning, and when I remember, I make my lunch to work. If I forget lunch, I'm starving when I get home and binge until I'm satisfied... not good. But I have stuck to my one Coke a day. For some reason, I thought cutting back on Coke, I'd automatically lose all the weight I wanted. Wishful thinking!

It's going to get cool really soon, and I HATE wearing skirts/dresses in the cold. That means, I have to make it do what it do!

Tonight, Biggest Loser's new season gets started, and I'm turning it up a notch! Every Tuesday, I will weigh-in with them. This week my weight is still 153 lbs. My goal for next week is to lose 3 lbs.
