Who's At Fault?

Q & A

Who's fault is it... The person who left a valuable notebook, phone, or device in their pocket, or the person who put the clothes, along with said valuable item in the wash?

Mr. Husband and I have had this discussion ump-teen times (that's one of my Grand-daddy's words), during the course of our almost 20 year marriage. This weekend, I washed his work clothes as usually. Pulling his pants out of the washer, I noticed a little notebook, at the bottom of the tub. Of course, he "needed that!"

I would not own up to it being entirely my fault! I did check his front, and back pockets. That little booger, was hiding in the cargo pockets! Further more, he put the pants in the dirty clothes. If it's in the basket, it's fair game. He should have emptied his pockets!

A few years ago, I washed his Mr. Husband's brand new cell phone. Two days prior, I bought it for our anniversary, no upgrade. Yes, I had to buy him a second one, because I didn't get insurance. He left it in his pocket that time as well.

That prompted me to ask him to start emptying his pockets, before putting them in the dirty clothes. He NEVER leaves money in his pockets!!!

No, I don't usually check the kids pockets. The girls almost always put their things in their purses, or backpacks. My son is usually trying to hide things from me, so he leaves NOTHING behind!

When was the last time you washed something important?

Q & A

When Was The Last Time You Were A Fashion Don't?!

Mr. Husband, and my oldest daughter have deemed themselves the "Fashion Police," of the Richardson household. Frequently Baby-girl adds her two cents. Most often the subject of their disapproval is... Moi.

In October, I had this great idea to wear something pink every day leading up to the Susan G. Komen 'Race For The Cure.' As the days went on, it became more difficult to find something pink to wear, and make it work.

One particular day, I wore a blue dress, with a pink scarf. I must admit, I thought I was rather cute. That was until I picked Baby-girl up from school. I didn't get the usual "Hey Mama." Instead, I got a real concerned look and, "Did you wear that to work.all.day?"

I gave her a stern "YES, and there is nothing wrong with what I'm wearing!"

As soon as the two middle daughters hit the door, Baby-girl chimed, "Look what Mama wore, aaaaall day today."

When was the last time you were a 'Fashion Don't,' whether you knew it or not?

Q & A

The CDC has issued a very serious warning. This fall and winter, between 60 - 120 million Americans could become sick with the Swine Flu. More will contract the virus, without becoming ill. The worst case scenario, 90,000 Americans could die.

Lately, I've given the Swine Flu, vaccines, and trying to stay well, a lot of thought. It's also sparked memories about gross medicines my mother gave us as kids. She used to tell us stories of her father making, and giving them home remedies that sound like a witch potions.

The worst and the grossest (I know it's not a word, work with me okay), medicine I remember taking is Father John. That stuff had a terrible stinch! It was so thick, I couldn't swallow it. As soon as it hit the back of my tongue, it and all the contents of my stomach came up, and out! Mama would be waiting with another spoonful, until it went, and stayed down!

What are your gross medicine or home remedy horror stories?

Q & A

Outside of the regular stuff, keys, money ... I always carry a camera in my purse. I never know when I'll come across the perfect drive by shooting opportunity, (something worthy of a picture), or my kids doing something amazing. I may also need a camera to take a picture as evidence.

What's the one thing you always carry in your purse (wallet)?
