Last weekend while running back and forth between a basketball game, and a talent show rehearsal, I was stopped dead in my tracks. I couldn't believe my eyes!
As if I'd seen something that no one would believe, I whipped out my cell phone and took a picture. I had to record this... it maybe the last functioning one of its kind. This pay phone is truly an endangered species.
Not that long ago pay phones, and phone booths were everywhere, in malls, restaurants, and street corners. Now they're relics to remind us the good old days. Wait a minute... those days aren't actually that old.
In college, I used to sit in the window at the end of the hall, and talk to my boyfriend for hours on a pay phone. Said boyfriend is now, Mr. Husband. I had a calling card, so that I could call home only. Wow, that was just 25 years ago.
Technology has changed the way we communicate in so many ways. Not only can I talk, I can text, tweet... with people on the other side of the world without assistance, or effort. I'm excited about what the next 10 years has in store.
What endangered species have you encountered?
