It's been almost two weeks since our semester ended. I've been doing the domestic goddess thing cooking, cleaning, washing...
Now I'm having a hankering for something different. I REALLY want to be on a beach, somewhere, anywhere! I want a scene straight out of the movies. You know the one... walking hand in hand with Mr. Husband at sunset, running out of the water with a bikini, and sitting under an umbrella sipping something non-alcoholic and tropical. *insert screeching train halting sound*
Cancel all the romanticism.
Mr. Husband really doesn't care about the beach, or playing outside. I'll settle for just walking along the beach , or sitting close to the water with a notebook, penning something profound. *Ha!*
The point is, I WANT TO GO TO THE BEACH!
Right now, I'll settle for a lake, any lake, or even the Arkansas River.

The Replacements
Recently, my dryer went out... I gave him a pink slip, with instructions to take his mate with him. And he did. Shortly after, the washer went out as well. For weeks now, "The Replacements," and I have been getting along, just fine!
"The Replacements" are more energy efficient, and use less water... it's called h-e, high efficiency. They're also much quieter than the "Old Folks," can wash and dry twice as many clothes, along with some other neat tricks. They've made my life so much easier, I can dress up to do the laundry. Seriously, I was on my way to work, and thought I'd take the picture. LOL
I'm thinking about naming them, but I don't have a clue. Do you have any ideas?

It's Official!
Wednesday, was the official start of my Christmas break!
I FINALLY finished grading piles of class work, finals, and entered in all my grades. With the click of the very last submit, I was not only relieved, but elated. The semester was officially over for me.
While the rest of my family is still in school and working, I'm totally relaxing!
NOT!!!
So far, day 1 of my break, I was a complete domestic goddess. By 7 a.m. I had six breakfast-to-go done, wrapped, and waiting, and eight loads of clothes sorted (Yes, there are still a lot of clothes left).
By noon, I had washed four loads of clothes, and folded two, cleaned out the refrigerator, and loaded the dishwasher, changed the sheets on my bed, wrote a recommendation letter, and was waiting for Mr. Husband to pick me up for lunch. Whew!
After lunch, I washed and folded a few more loads of clothes, wrote a blog post, Tweeted a little, and finally turned on the TV.
By the time I picked up two from basketball practice, ran a couple of errands, and got dinner ready, you could stick a fork in me. I was done!
By 9 p.m. I was crawling in the bed, and don't remember falling asleep.
I think I'll take Wifey's advice, and slow this race down. It's time to STOP, and taste the Coca-Cola!
Merry Christmas!
