I AM BLUE

April 2nd was Autism Awareness Day, and my bloggy buddy, Angela of Hanging With Mrs. Cooper, worked hard to help them promote awareness.

Angela was not just rallying for a cause she knows nothing about, she understands very well the impact of autism. She's the mother Emmanuel, a 10-year-old boy, with autism. It's important that the world knows, and understands as well.

"My son has got to be the happiest little boy I know. He doesn't let his autism stop him form doing anything Autism affects his comprehension, which makes it difficult for him to be in a normal classroom setting. He has to learn at his own pace, but he cannot tell you what he did in school today. You see, autism truly is like a puzzle for him.

Manny can tell you everything you need to know about Nascar. From who drives what number car, and who their sponsor is. You can't teach him how to play a game on Wii, you just give him the controls and he learns automatically."

April 2nd, has past, but there are still opportunities to learn about autism, and support Autism Speaks, where ever you are. In fact, get your walking shoes ready, a walk promoting awareness should be just around the corner. Visit Autism Speaks to find out how you can become involved.
They're listening.
