I See... Blurry Lights!

For nearly a year, I've carried a prescription for new lenses in my notebook. When I changed notebooks, it moved as well. You see, I didn't want to wear bi-focals, even if they are lineless. At 40-years-old, I felt, I was too young for bi-focals.

I did go to Wal-Mart, and start the process of getting new lenses. In the middle of the appointment, I told the lady helping me, I wasn't ready, and when I was, I'd return. I haven't gone back!

Last weekend, I noticed a bank's marquee, just beyond the light I was approaching. I asked my children if they could read it, and they could. All I saw was blurred red lights. At night approaching car lights look like what my Dr. calls star burst. I didn't think anything of it because it's... DARK! Now, I'm careful not to drive in unfamiliar places at night. Just as a precaution.

I'm thinking, maybe it's time to reconsider this bi-focal thingy. I've noticed a few other things, like:

1. Waking up, I need my glasses ASAP. There's no seeing the clock without them.

2. Reading medicine bottles, the phone book, or recipes has become more difficult. If I take my glasses off, I'm not seeing ANYTHING!

3. Messaging, tweeting, or facebooking from my phone, if my glasses aren't on, is all a total blur.

4. Putting my eyeliner on in the mirror isn't funny anymore. I have to be ON.THE.MIRROR to see what I'm doing!

I'm admitting, I can't see as well as I used too. And maybe I really do need bi-focals, even though I'm still in my 40s. There I said it. I put my handful of vanity in my pocket. I will make an appointment, and get the damn bi-focals.

Are you kidding? There is NO WAY, I'm using that prescription from nearly a year ago. My eyes have changed since then, and I know it!

LMAO at you. We definately have to meet. Can I just tell you I just did a post on this last week. I just got new eyeglasses with the progressive lens. Fancier way of saying bifocals. I'm going to be honest and say "What a difference". You're only making your site worse if you don't get them. My eyes aren't as tired at the end of the day either which I was starting to notice. it was from straining. And yes, driving at night is better because I have less glare on count of that expense I put into the lenses. It's gonna set you back a little, but it will be so worth it in the end. I'm used to them now. It takes about a week to remember to look downward when tying and then move your eyeballs up to see through the prescription. Get the bifocals girl.

@Nesi - Not you too!

@Angela - Okay, you're putting me at ease. I REALLY need them before I have to drive somewhere without Mr. Husband. He doesn't know I can't see so well at night, and you better not tell him!

I"ve been wearing glasses since I was in the 9th grade. I've considered getting Lasik surgery but since I saw Jessica simpson get it done on her reality show years ago, I've been terrified. I can't stand to think of someone cutting away at my eye lens. Yuck. My contacts are quite aggravating because they are always blurry. I think my vision is getting worse as I get closer and closer to 28! LMAO!!!!

Krystal. Krystal. KRYSTAL! 28? LMAO!!! I saw a report on Lasik. No one ever talked about the side affects until now, it causes dry eyes, blurring later. Not everyone, but a lot of people are having trouble.

I used to want it bad! And my son said as soon as he turns 18. I think I'll keep my glasses, and keep finding cute ones.

28... cracking me up!

Stacy - I feel you. Sometimes I feel like I can't see with, or without them. My husband says if I keep them clean, I'd see a lot better!

He doesn't know what he's talking about. He"s never worn glasses!
