Three Pounds Down

My mission is to lose 10 pounds this summer. I've been really motivated, walking four, sometimes five miles every weekday morning. After the first week I weighed in losing two pounds, and the following week I lost only one. I was a little disturbed!

I'm walking every morning, logging my walks and EVERY THING I eat on livestrong so why didn't I lose two pounds? Livestrong suggested in order to lose two pounds a week, I should eat 1161 calories a day. Their My Plate online application is amazing. I don't have a clue about calories, but the website has helped me keep track of it all. It lets me how many more to go, and even figuring in my exercise. Last week, the one pound loss was a little bit of a surprise.

This Monday, the day before yesterday, I was horrisprised! When I saw that I had only lost .3 tenths of a pound, I wanted to go eat something. I started moving the scale around the house trying to get a better reading. I even went to WalMart and bought a new battery.

I know I didn't put it on over night, and it's not going to come off over night, but.... Actually last summer I gained almost 10 pounds. Recently, I bought a couple of dresses, only dresses, and REFUSE to buy pants!

When I stepped on that scale Monday, I was really discouraged! Had there been a cheese cake in the fridge, I would have eaten it,,, ALL! My friend suggested I hide the scale, and keep exercising and eating right. For the next two weeks, I'm not even going to look at the scale. June 11, will be my next time I weigh-in.

Pray for me!

I am so with you. I have 10 I need to lose too. I use "Lose It" app on the iPhone and it helps, but those lbs are stubborn...

Don't get discouraged. You could be losing inches and building muscle which is a good thing. The weight will come off. Putting the scale away is a good thing right now.

Like you've already said....it's a process and you're getting there. Just imagine how great you'll feel when eating right and exercising is your norm and you no longer stalk the scale. You won't even be thinking about those .3 pounds then.
