Better Left In The 80's

The 80s were some of the best years of my life! It was the decade of my Jr. High, High School, and College years. Prince's "Little Red Corvette," was my jam, and "The Cosby Show," was my show. Run DMC had everybody wearing A.D.I.D.A.S. gym shoes, and the Swatch Watch was all the rave.

Even though there were great times, and fashion in the 80s, there are still a few things that are better off being left behind in the 80s!

Stirrup pants: I had several pair, and I thought they were great. But I wouldn't be caught dead in a pair now!

Leg Warmers: We wore leg warmers of every color! A few years ago, my mother gave me a box of things from Jr. High years, and several pair of leg warmers made it beyond the year 2000. The days of "Flashdance" and "Fame", had everyone wanting to be a dancer, or at least dress like one.

Jumpsuit/Clown suit: OMG the really roomy jumpsuit with the great big collar, and in order to use the bathroom you'd have to undress! Why in the world did I think that crap was cute?! They always had BUSY patterns. That was such a bad idea!!!

Shoulder pads: Every suit, dress and jacket had shoulder pads, HUGE, wide shoulder pads. Looking back at pictures we look like we were wearing costumes. They crack me up!

Parachute pants: The pants with all the zippers. Everyone I knew had those pants, or it seemed like.

Big Hair: In the 80s, I wore a feather haircut, and I loved it. The bigger it was... the better. My daughter's saw a picture of me, with my big hair, and thought it was an afro. My big hair is not the biggest I've seen!

What do you remember about 80s, and how much of it can stay in the 80s?
