BG: I need to get rid of my dolls.
Me: What?! Why?!
BG: I'm going to the 6th grade. It's time for me to let them go. I don't need to be playing with dolls any more.
Me: Heavy sigh, shaking my head!
---------------------------------------
This is coming from a child that carries a doll with her, on car trips, or any outing where she'll have idle time. And ANY TIME you don't see her, she's more in her room playing quietly by herself, with her dolls. It's also the SAME child who talks to her dolls, and is the voice of the doll when it talks back. Oh yeah! She had about 75 dolls, Barbie's, Bratz and a few others, along with clothes and houses (plural). We thinned the dolls to about 50, and got rid of about 3 houses. Her doll collection is a border line addiction. She loves them, like I love Wal-Mart, and Coca Cola!
Does she REALLY think she can just give up her dolls like that?! Who's she kidding. Even if she could, I wouldn't let her. She's my baby, and I want her to keep playing with dolls until she's at least 18-years-old. When she starts losing interest in her dolls, she'll become interested in other things. Things I'm not ready for!
I know she won't stay a baby, but she'll always be my baby.

Uh oh... It's starting to happen!
Good luck!
Have a great weekend!
I would perhaps pack them up and put them in the basement or something - I wouldn't totally get rid of them, in case she changes her mind...or if she wants them when she gets older!
But, it is hard when our kids grow up, huh?! :)
Ooohhh girl, I feel you. My neice turned 16 this year, and in my mind she should still be playing with her dolls too. Hold on to them as long as you can, even if you have to play with the bratz yourself. Sigh.....
I'm not there yet my daughter is two but it seems like shes 12 sometimes.
Lisa xx,
Glad I stopped by.
Hola La'Tonya,
I wonder if that's how Wander feels? I've always wondered how it felt to watch as the little people grow to be adults...it's not the same even though I see my godson I can still disassociate. I think I'n gonna call Wander and ask how she feels now that my sister, the baby, talks about boys and doesn't give two cents about her dolls anymore.
Side note I heart this post. I thought it was all types of cuteness!
