Saturday, I thought I would treat myself to an eyebrow waxing. I do like to keep them arched, but it had been a while since I'd had them waxed. This wasn't my first time, so I knew what to expect.
Rip. "You want your lip done next?" She asked.
"No."
Actually, I had considered it, but I was scared. Like I said, I've had my eyebrows waxed a few times, and know how it can sting. My lip is more sensitive, and I figured it would hurt.
Rip. There went eyebrow number two. She handed me a mirror, "You like? Want me to do your lip?"
"No, not today.I'm scared." Actually, I was thinking about it. "Okay, lets do it."
"It's gone hurt," she said.
I nodded, okay. Why would she ask, then taunt me. What? She said it a second time, "It's gone hurt. I just want you to know, before I do it."
She spread that hot wax on my top lip, almost up my nose. Pressed on thin strips of gauze like material. I was sweating bullets! Just as I closed my eyes tight, RIIIP. I wanted to gather my things and run like the wind. "I told you, it's gone to hurt."
I wanted her to stop saying that!
There was no turning back now. I had to get the other side done as well. Closing my eyes, I braced myself, as she ripped the other half. Handing me the mirror again, all I could see is red! My lip was swollen, and red.
"First time, it hurt real bad. Second time, not so bad," she tried to console. I just experienced real trauma, and she's talking a second time.
I'm loving my eyebrows, and when the swelling goes down, maybe, just maybe, I'll like my lip minus the fuzz. The price of beauty is a pain in the *%$, lip!

LOL! I never got a lip wax before! I've done eyebrow threading though and I would certainly prefer waxing to threading. :-) Hope that swelling goes down soon!
Oh the things we go through to be beautiful! Don't worry. I'm sure the swelling has gone down. And just like she told you. The second time won't be so bad. LOL

my hairdresser did my eyebrows once..and was all like.. hey do you want me to do your lip..
i was like.. * gasp* .. do I need it done.
She was quiet and got the strips out.
* gasp double time*

Krystal - It's going to take strong convincing, or a super mustache before there's a second time. Knock on wood.

Uh. Scary! I'm still too chicken to even get my eyebrows waxed. I pluck them religiously. How un-beautiful, huh. Maybe one day...
I got my lip waxed once and got little bumps around the corner of my lips so never got it done again. But now I'm noticing the hair is getting a little thicker so I guess I need to bite the bullet. But that's it. Eyebrows and lips. Nothing else. I can't even imagine.
I've had my brows waxed ONCE and that was when I got married but believe me I was kicking & screaming all the way. that thing hurt so bad and my forehead swelled up and I was thinking I would get married looking like I came from outerspace...I'm not doing that again eva. you go girl!!

I haven't had to to do the lip thing yet. I dread the day I do! I'm just getting use to waxing the eyebrows!
Eye waxing still brings me to tears. I can only imagine what I'll do when it comes to getting my lip waxed. I'd rather deal with the hair on my lip. Just saying.

I've never had my lip done, I would have been a little scared too. The eyebrows look nice though!
